Description Adafruit 16-Channel PWM / Servo HAT for Raspberry Pi - Mini Kit
De Raspberry Pi is a great little computer, but there's one thing it doesn't do well! That is controlling DC Servo motors. These motors need very specific and repetitive timing pulses to set the position† This HAT makes that a lot easier! It adds the ability to control 16 servos with perfect timing. It can also output PWM up to 1,6 kHz with 12-bit precision.
The HAT is suitable for any Raspberry Pi with a 2x20 GPIO Header. It can control up to 2 servos or PWM outputs via I2C with only 16 pins. The built-in PWM controller can control all 16 channels simultaneously without the Raspberry Pi to ballast† 16 channels are not enough for you? No problem! You can stack up to 62 of these HATs to drive up to 992 servos. And that on the same 2 pins!
To make everything even easier, Adafruit has a Python library that you can use to get started right away† So you can easily make robotics projects yourself.
Each Mini Kit comes with the HAT, a 2-pin screw terminal, four 3x4 headers and a 2x20 socket header† You will have to do a bit of attic to mount the headers on the HAT. If you want to stack multiple HATs you can use a 2x20 stack header (not included)† Keep in mind that you still need servos and an external 5V power supply.
