Description Adafruit PiOLED - 128x32 Monochrome OLED Add-on for Raspberry Pi
This is the 128x32 PiOLED from Adafruit. It is a small OLED display that works on all Raspberry Pi computer fits. The PiOLED comes with a monochrome 128x32 OLED, with sharp white pixels. The OLED only uses the I2C pins. This way you keep many GPIO pins available for buttons, LEDs, sensors, etc.
These displays are small, only 1 inch diagonally. Thanks to the high contrast of the OLED, it is easy to read. The screen consists of 128x32 individual white OLED pixels. Because the display makes its own light, no backlighting is required. This reduces the force required to operate the screen.
The screen is easy to use. Adafruit provides a Python libary for the SSD1306 chipset. With the sample code, you can display images, text, and whatever you want. The screen can handle a refresh rate of 30FPS. You can also display animations or a simple video.
The module is delivered fully assembled and tested. So you don't have to do anything but plug it in and install the Python code.
Keep in mind that OLEDs can dim a bit with (very) long-term use. If you want to keep the screen clear, it's best to turn off the display (the pixels) when you don't need it.
