Description Digital Servo Shield
The Digital Servo Shield is an essential tool for any robotics enthusiast. It is designed to control digital servos, such as the Dynamixel AX series, with an Arduinoboard to simplify. This shield is compatible with popular Arduinoboards, like the Arduino Uno. It makes it easy to connect multiple servos in series, ideal for building projects like robotic dogs or hexapods.
This smart shield has an integrated half-duplex circuit. This means that commands can be sent to all connected AX-12 servos via one wire. Depending on the command, all servos or only the servo with the specified ID respond. The unique thing about this shield is that it can connect up to more than 200 servos via a serial bus. Each servo can provide feedback on position, rotational speed, torque, current, motor temperature and more. This makes the shield versatile, not only for robot arms and humanoid robots, but also for wheel- or track-controlled robots.
Please note: the latest AX-12 servos require a standard reset before changing the operating mode. Information about this can be found in the included sample code.
