The DRV8825 Stepper Motor Driver Module is a high-performance bipolar stepper motor driver module. Designed by TI, this module is known for its efficiency and reliability. The DRV8825 is almost identical in pinout and interface to the A4988 module. This makes it an excellent replacement with better performance. With an operating voltage range of 8.2 to 45 V, it delivers up to 1.5 A per phase. This is done without a heat sink or forced air flow. A notable feature is the adjustable current limit. This protects against overflow and overheating.

The module supports six microstep resolutions down to 1/32 step. This allows for higher resolutions by enabling intermediate step locations. These are reached by activating the coils with intermediate current levels. The resolution can be easily set using the MODE0, MODE1 and MODE2 inputs. This makes the DRV8825 flexible in use. It is suitable for a wide range of applications.
