Description PCF8574 I2C IO Expander

The PCF8574 I2C IO Expander is a compact module. It immediately gives your microcontroller more digital inputs or outputs. With this module you can add eight extra GPIO pins at once via a simple I2C connection. This saves space and pins on your main controller. It works with an Arduino, ESP32 or Raspberry Pi . Communication takes place via only two wires: SDA and SCL. Ideal for projects where you need to control multiple buttons, LEDs or relays, but do not have enough pins. The chip supports multiple modules on the same I2C bus by means of adjustable addresses via three address pins. You can connect up to eight modules for a total of 64 extra IO pins. Each pin can be set separately as an input or output. Internal pull-up resistors ensure stable signals when used as an input. When used as an output, the pins supply enough current for LEDs or small transistors. Thanks to the wide voltage range of 2.5V to 6V, you can easily connect the expander to different logic levels. The module is ideal for home automation, switchboard projects or other applications with a lot of IO needs. Small in size, but big in functionality.
