The Spy Camera for Raspberry Pi is smaller than a fingernail, with a high enough resolution to see people or ghosts or whatever you're looking for.
It's about the size of a mobile phone camera – the module is just 8.5mm x 11.3mm – and has a clip-on back.
So it's easy to mount in a doorbell or behind the eye of a teddy bear!
The camera comes with a 289mm cable, so you can extend your Pi and mount it away from the camera.
Like the Raspberry Pi Camera Board, it attaches to your Raspberry Pi using one of the two small connectors on the board. This interface uses the special CSI interface, which is specifically designed for interfacing with cameras.
The CSI bus is capable of extremely high data rates and carries only pixel data.
The camera connects to the BCM2835 processor on the Pi via the CSI bus, a higher bandwidth link that passes pixel data from the camera back to the processor.
This bus runs along the flex cable that attaches the camera board to the Pi.
The sensor itself has a native resolution of 5 megapixels and has a fixed focus lens on board.
In terms of still images, the camera can capture static images of 2592 x 1944 pixels and also supports 1080p30, 720p60, and 640x480p60/90 video.
The CSI camera port works with Raspberry Pi 3B.
