Description Adafruit RGB LCD 16x2 Display - Backlight Negative - With extras

This is a nice upgrade from the standard 16x2 LCD displays. Instead of one color, this LCD has full color RGB characters on a dark background. So now you can adjust the color of the characters to your liking. Red, green, blue, pink, white, purple, yellow, it doesn't matter, everything is possible.
The LCD is custom made by Adafruit. This way you can use the screen in existing LCD projects. It will still work, only the red LED will work (red on black). The extra two pins (17 & 18) are for the green and blue LEDs. The LCD has built-in resistors so you can drive it with 5V logic . The current is about 20mA per LED. One LED is used for the backlight of the display.
The display comes with a separate 10K potentiometer for contrast and a row of pin headers . You can solder these onto the display yourself.
