Description RS232 to RS485 Industrial Isolated Converter
This is Waveshare's industrial grade isolated RS232 to RS485 converter. It converts RS232 signal to balanced differential RS485 signal. It provides stable transmission at 300~115200bps speed. You have about 1200m RS485 and about 15m RS232 transmission distance. You could connect up to 32 terminal devices, but it is suggested to use a repeater if more than 16 .
The unit comes with both screw terminals and an RJ45 connector for RS485. For RS232 a female DB9 connector is available. You can power it with 6V~36V, but a 12V wall adapter is included as standard.
On the top are 3 LED indicators. These indicate the power connection and TX / RX signal status. PWR red indicates that there is power. TXD flashing green indicates that data is being sent. RXD flashing blue indicates that data is being received. The device is housed in an aluminum alloy housing. This is solid, durable and offers a nice appearance.
