Description RTC Pi
De Raspberry Pi is a great cheap computer with thousands of different applications. However, there is one thing that is not provided, which is a real-time clock. This means that every time you use your Raspberry Pi turns off, he forgets what time it is. The next time you see the Raspberry Pi so you have to manually reset it.
The RTC Pi is a battery-powered real-time clock module for the Raspberry Pi. It keeps time when the Raspberry Pi is turned off. When the Pi is rebooted it allows the Pi to retrieve the current date and time from the RTC Pi.
The RTC Pi is powered through the Raspberry Pi using the GPIO port. The extended GPIO pins allow you to stack the RTC Pi with other expansion cards. The RTC Pi uses the DS1307 RTC (Real Time Clock) and a CR2032 battery to keep the date and time.
The RTC Pi can also be used on other types boards like an Arduino. You can use the I2C bus for this.
Note, do not connect the RTC Pi to the Raspberry Pi when the power is connected without a CR2032 battery installed. This can cause damage to the DS1307 RTC chip.
The battery and mounting kit are not included.
