Step 1: Requirements
- Raspberry Pi board
- SD Card from 8GB
- HDMI cable
- Display
- Keyboard & Mouse
Step 2: Install IMG
Once you have downloaded the NOOBS file you need to extract the .gz file.
The extracted file is the .img To install the NOOBS SD image on your MicroSD card, insert the MicroSD card into your computer.
You can install the .img via one of the following programs.
For windows: Win32Diskimager
For Apple: Pi Baker
For Linux you can use the dd command or Etcher gebruiken
Make sure your MicroSD card is formatted before you start.
Step 3: Connecting
Insert the MicroSD card containing the NOOBS Image into the SD slot on the bottom of the Raspberry Pi.
Then you close the Raspberry pi to a TV / Monitor with an HDMI cable. Connect a keyboard and mouse to the Pi to control everything.
Step 4: Configure NOOBS
Once your Pi is connected you can start it up. You should now get the screen below.
Select LibreELEC of OSMC and click Install. You will be asked to confirm. This will delete data on the SD card so if you previously had Raspbian, you should backup your files first. If you are sure, click YES to continue and start the installation. This will take some time. when complete, NOOBS will display a window saying: OS (es) Installed Successfully Click OK and your Pi will restart.
Step 5: Using Kodi
Now you have installed your Kodi distribution and you can play media files, configure the system and install add-ons to add more functionality. You may see a welcome screen, which will help you configure and start your configuration.
A much improved version of ApplePi-Baker (2.x) is now available.
Among other things, better compression support, which no longer uses Terminal commands, 64 bit signed, etc. In addition, it supports resizing partitions during backup or restore.
