Description Adafruit Capacitive Touch HAT for Raspberry Pi - Mini Kit - MPR121
This is the Capacitive Touch HAT from Adafruit. It allows you to create an interactive Raspberry Pi to create a project. There are a total of 12 capacitive touch sensors on the board† Capacitive touch detection works by detecting when someone touches one of the sensor electrodes. Capacitive touch detection is used for things like tablets, phones and control panels. With this HAT you can make electronics that can respond to human touch.
The HAT has 12 mounting points to which alligator clip cables can be attached. Place one side on the HAT and the other side on something electrically conductive. This can be metal, but also vegetables or fruit!
Adafruit has a handy standard Python library code. This makes it easy to detect when an object is touched.
For permanent projects, it is also possible to solder on a pad. The HAT works every Raspberry Pi which has 2x20 GPIO pins. Each HAT comes with a capacitive touch HAT PCB and a 2x20 socket header. The socket header still needs to be soldered to the PCB.
Please note that the HAT does not come with Raspberry Pi, alligator clips and other accessories.
