Description RS232 to RS485 Industrial Isolated Converter
This is Waveshare's industrial grade isolated RS232 to RS485 converter. It converts the RS232 signal into a balanced differential RS485 signal. It provides stable transmission at a speed of 300~115200bps. You have about 1200m RS485 and about 15m RS232 transmission distance. You could connect up to 32 terminal devices, but it is recommended to use a repeater at more than 16.
The unit comes with both screw terminals and an RJ45 connector for the RS485. A female DB232 connector is available for the RS9. You can power it with 6V~36V, but you will receive a 12V wall adapter as standard.
On the top are 3 LED indicators. These indicate the power connection and TX / RX signal status. PWR red indicates voltage is applied. TXD flashing green indicates that data is being sent. RXD flashing blue indicates that data is being received. The device is housed in an aluminum alloy housing. It is solid, durable and offers a nice appearance.
