Description Raspberry Pi 4B starter kit 8GB
De Raspberry Pi 4B is the newest board of Raspberry Pi.
Although the Pi 4 is similar to the previous model, some very important upgrades have been made.
One of the most important parts in the Raspberry Pi 4 is the Broadcom BCM2711 SoC.
It consists of four 1,5 GHz 64-bit ARM Cortex-A72 CPU cores.
As a result, it is up to three times faster than the Cortex-A53 CPU in the Raspberry Pi 3.
It is now also possible for the first time to choose the amount of RAM.
Options are: 2 GB ,4 GB or even 8 GB of RAM.
For reference, the Raspberry Pi 3 only came with 1GB of RAM, which is a bit on the lean side for normal use.
The Pi 4 now comes with 2 Micro HDMI connections, so you can connect two 4K monitors.

Works fine. I had the OS pre-installed on the card, so after a very short setup (language, WiFi password, etc.) I can get started right away. Small point of interest: with the standard red/white housing you cannot use the GPIO pins. I didn't need them, but I chose a different housing for the IOT people.

I already had an RP4B 8GB and was also very happy with it. The RP4 was not intended to be used as a desktop, but as a server (command line) that has to fulfill a number of functions on the network. For example, I had a number of other functions in mind that should be on another RP. The idea is that I have a number of RPs that can provide me with the work flow in my network.
